Carbon Dioxide is often considered the first clean agent. An odorless, invisible gas at room temperature it is stored either in high pressure steel bottles or in refrigerated low pressure bulk containers. CO2 leaves no residue which makes it highly favorable. It had been widely installed throughout the years however in recent years it has become constrained to unoccupied spaces as newer agents such as NOVEC 1230, FM-200, and Water Mist systems can safely protect these areas.
