Spot Heat Detectors

Heat detectors are simple and reliable devices that can be used in areas with a high background smoke level or to detect fires that produce little or no smoke. Heat detectors are generally one of two types, fixed temperature or rate-of-rise. When the sensing element of a fixed temperature detector exceeds a set point, the device goes into alarm. Rate-of-rise detectors respond more rapidly as they anticipate that a temperature level will be reached by measuring how fast the temperature is changing.
