Large open spaces, rapidly developing fire or fires with little or no smoke often require flame detection. UV/IR offers the rapid response required with the robust false signal rejection which is demanded in these situations. They are often used in aircraft hangar, refineries, battery rooms and turbine enclosures. These devices form an integral part of many special hazard fire suppression systems.
